Care for our Community During Times of Division

The University of Maryland Counseling Center staff wishes to convey their commitment to helping members of our campus community during this difficult time.

   Covid-19 Update

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Testing Office has suspended in-person operations as well as ParaPro, MAT, and CLEP testing. We are able to conduct other exams through remote proctoring.

Testing Office

Testing Office

The University of Maryland Testing Office administers a wide range of tests to University of Maryland students taking classes at other institutions and to other test takers from outside the university.

We strive to provide the best customer service and a great experience for everyone who visits our office.

Please refer to the tabs below and on the left side of the page for more information.

Office Hours

Our office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Our computer based testing (TOEFL, GRE, PRAXIS, CLEP, MAT) hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. seven days a week and evenings in the peak months of October through December. Our proctored testing hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday.

Children in Testing

Unattended children under age 16 are not permitted in the Testing Office or on campus while their family members or adult guardians are testing and the children cannot be supervised by those family or guardians. Violations of this policy will result in denial of admission for the test scheduled for that day.

If a child under the age of 16 is testing (for example, in connection with home schooling), an adult guardian must remain within the Testing Office suite during the time the child is testing. If the adult guardian cannot remain in the suite during the testing, admission will be denied for the test scheduled for that day. If the adult guardian does not remain in the Testing Office suite during the time the child is testing, admission will be denied for future testing.
