The Research Group within the Counseling Center is a subset of the Testing & Research Unit (TRU) division. The role of the Research Group is to conduct studies within the Counseling Center and larger University of Maryland community that can be used to gain a deeper understanding of college student development. Our primary responsibility is the development and implementation of the New Student Census. Along with other offices on campus, the Research Group works to develop this survey every year, analyze the data, and write subsequent reports and articles. The current staff is composed of an assistant director and three graduate assistants.
