University of Maryland Counseling Center

Training

UPCCES is a field placement and training site for students interested in child and adolescent mental health. Although the service has historically trained students from Clinical, Counseling, and School Psychology, and Family Studies programs, training opportunities are available to other mental health-related disciplines as well. Trainees are undergraduate and graduate level individuals whose responsibilities may include intake interviews, individual and group counseling, psychological evaluations, school consultation, observation, and research. Duties and responsibilities are assigned based on level of didactic and practical experience. Each trainee is under the direct supervision of Dr. Beth Warner or another professional pscyhologist.
