The Testing Office offers a variety of services to the University of Maryland and the community it serves. Located within the Counseling Center, the office works with career counselors, mental health counselors, educators, students and community members to provide for their testing and assessment needs.

STANDARDIZED TESTING
The University of Maryland, College Park, is the testing site for many nationally and locally coordinated examinations. Testing for graduate or professional school entrance, professional certification, and language testing are just a few of the types of tests administered through the office. A listing of standardized test descriptions, schedules, and registration information is available.

The Testing Office is a computer-based testing facility. Tests currently beng offered include: the GRE, CLEP, MAT, TOEFL, and PRAXIS. Get additional information concerning computer-based testing offered at the University of Maryland.

PROCTORED TESTING
The Testing Office also offers proctored testing services. If you have an exam that you'd like to have proctored, please send an e-mail which includes your name, phone number, university, whether your exam is paper-based or computer-based, approximate length of the exam, and your preferred dates and times for scheduling to testingoffice@umd.edu. The fees for proctored testing are $25 per hour, cash or check with a $25 minimum for Proctored Testing. UMCP students are exempt from this minimum with your Student ID.

For our proctored testing hours, please go to www.ncta-testing.org/cctc/find.php?sid=553

PSYCHOLOGICAL AND VOCATIONAL TESTING RESOURCES
The Testing Office works in conjunction with both the Counseling Center and the Career Center to help provide resources for their clientele. Personality testing, interest tests, and other forms of assessment can all be administered. Clients can have their results sent to a qualified professional who will then help the individual understand the results and how to best use those results.

CHILDREN IN TESTING
Unattended children under age 16 are not permitted in Testing while their family member or adult guardian is testing. Examinees who bring unattended children under age 16 will be advised of this policy, offered an opportunity to reschedule if that opportunity exists, and denied admission to testing if the examinee persists in bringing one or more unattended children.
