EDCP 108B - Learning Strategies (1 credit)
- Designed to help students become more efficient and active learners
- Offered during the fall and spring semesters as a half-semester or full-semester course
- Offered as the Summer and Winter Retention Program during the Winter & Summer Terms for students who are in academic difficulty or have been dismissed from the university
- Provides instruction in the following areas:

EDCP 108G - Transfer Students in the University (1 credit)
- Designed for transfer students (from 2 year or 4 year colleges) to help ease their transition to UMCP
- Offered during the fall and spring semesters as a full-semester course
- Offers students a review of study skills, time management, and the resources available for student success
- Introduces students to key information about campus life and services for transfer students
- Helps students develop a supportive campus network
EDCP 108M - Math Study Skills and Building Confidence (1 credit)
- Designed for students who are experiencing difficulty in learning math, or for students studying math education
- Offered twice during the fall and spring semesters as a half-semester course
- Designed as an independent study & hybrid course
- Studies the affective, behavioral, and cognitive dimensions of learning math
- Offers students instruction in study skills, time management, and the resources available for student success in math

EDCP 108R - Returning Students in the University (1 credit)
- Designed for students 25 years or older who have had a break in their formal education and are returning to school
- Offered during the fall and spring semesters as a full-semester course
- Offers students a review of study skills, time management, and the resources available for student success
- Introduces the student to campus resources and information about campus life
- Helps students develop a supportive campus network
EDCP 318E - Leadership for Peer Assisted Learning (3 credits)
- Designed for students selected to participate in the Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) program of LAS.
- Topics include: listening and communication skills, developing helping relationships, facilitating learning, the role of culture, and ethics. Course also includes lab hours leading peer mentoring sessions of for academic coursework. Students will learn tools and techniques to assist them in their role as a peer educator and mentor. Students will better understand how their own development and experiences influence their relationships with PAL program participants. Through interactive assignments including reflection journals, professional development activities, experiential learning, group projects, and class discussions, students will learn more about student development, best practices regarding peers assisting peers, and leadership skills. By the end of the semester, each PAL educator will have created a professional peer educator portfolio highlighting their competencies and experiences as a peer educator and mentor.
EDCP 318N - Leadership in Collaborative Learning Groups (3 credits)
- Designed for leaders in the Guided Study Session Program or other collaborative learning group programs
- Students understand themselves as learners
- Group facilitation and assessment strategies
- Learning and motivational strategies to support learning in content areas
EDCP 498 - Peer Assisted Learning (1 credit)
- Designed for peer helps in LAS peer assisted learning program (PAL)
- The class prepares PALs to participate in the peer helping role by teaching:
