Learning Assistance Services offers the Academic Success Workshop series to help students become successful active learners. Workshops focus helping students manage their time, and improve their approach to studying and learning at UM. Workshops are held on Mondays. See below for the date, time and location.

Have you ever wondered why it is so hard to recall some facts but so easy to remember the words of a song? This workshop will share several brain-based learning strategies to help you understand how your brain actually works and how to get the most out of it.

Description:
This workshop is intended to assist students who are enrolled in a 01x math class and need to re-take the math placement test to continue into a credit math course. Test-taking techniques will be emphasized. Students will also be given strategies to reduce test anxiety. While this workshop is not intended to teach the content of the math placement test, student questions will be honored as time permits.

Come and learn to take charge of your math exam! Techniques for preparing for, taking, and learning from previous math exams will be discussed. Students will develop a plan of action to prepare effectively for math course exams. Please bring your math course syllabus and a graded math exam to use during the workshop.
