High school juniors and seniors who want to get a "running start" on college can sharpen their study skills at the University of Maryland at College Park. The Learning Assistance Service (LAS) of the Counseling Center offers the College-Bound Program, comprised of group workshops on time management, note-taking, textbook reading, exam preparation, and other skills needed to succeed in college. In addition, participants learn more about the transition to college directly from college students and visit one lecture class and several campus resources.
All college-bound juniors and seniors are encouraged to make a special effort to attend. The Spring 2009 College-Bound Program runs each Monday, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, starting January 26th through May 18th. The program cost is $300. The fee for two siblings is $450 (25% off for each student). For an intake appointment or for additional information on the College-Bound Program, please contact Ms. Shirley Browner at (301) 314-7702.
