Registration

How do I register for services at DSS?

  1. Download the appropriate documentation form to have your provider complete explaining the nature of the disability.
  2. Schedule an appointment by stopping by Room 4155 Susquehanna Hall or calling 301.314.7682 to meet with the DSS Director: Dr. Jo Ann Hutchinson, CRC; Counselor: GoEun Na; Counselor for LD and ADHD: Kathleen Lynch, M.A.; or Deaf and Hard of Hearing Coordinator: Cassandra Lytle.
  3. Have your provider fax your documentation to 301-405-0813 or bring your documentation with you to the appointment. Please make every effort to send your documentation to our office at least two (2) business days prior to your appointment.

  4. During the appointment, the DSS representative will refer to the documentation to discuss and determine what the appropriate accommodations are.

  5. If the documentation is complete, the Accomodation Request Form will be completed for you to distibute to your instructors..

  • Depending on the nature of your disability, you may be required to update your verification and accommodations periodically. Parents are welcome to attend the interview with the students, though the interview cannot take place without the student present.
